Live adult moth photographed at McKee Marsh Forest Preserve, DuPage County Illinois.

Concealer Moth
This moth is approximately 10mm long. This shot is hideously out of focus, but I love the colors

Concealer Moth
This gorgeous moth is covered with iridescent scales (including the antennae, it seems.) To me, the white-tipped antennae seem to mimic the stilt-legged flies
of the
Diptera family Micropezidae who constantly wave their white-mittened front legs in the air, mimicking who-knows-what?

Concealer Moth
Concealer moth's head is smooth-scaled, with upturned labial palps

Special thanks to John and Jane Balaban of Bugguide.net and Bob Paterson  of Moth Photographers Group for identifying this specimen.
