Needle Fir - Abies holophylla Maxim.
The needle fir is an evergreen tree growing to 100 feet. It is a native of Korea and northern China. Also commonly called Manchurian fir, although the tree species Abies nephrolepis is also called by that name. (3)

This Morton Arboretum specimen, about 3 meters tall, was started from seed 14 years ago.

This fir, a native of Asia (temperate) is a fine textured, densely branched tree with a narrow, pyramidal shape.  Under cultivation, the needle fir grows to 90+ feet tall and 50 feet wide.
