Ruby Luster Crabapples are 24 years old

Ruby Luster Crabapple is not in the Morton Arboretum’s list of recommended trees for home landscape. We’re not sure why – perhaps this tree is too susceptible to fire blight, or scab or mildew? All we know is these trees are a delightful combination of red-purple blossoms and attractive maroon foliage, and provide a nice compact form at 24 years, as evidenced by these photos.
